Boy's Basketball

ACS has combined with St. Mary's School to create an awesome 7th/8th Grade team this year.  The team won the Freshwater Invitational Basketball Tournament held on January 18-19 which qualified them for the Crescent City Jaycee tournament in March. 

We also have a combined 5th/6th Grade team which is improving with each game and is having alot of good games which will give the boys a great foundation for the future. 

 

 

ACS Sponsors Community Volleyball Clinic for 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Girls

  ACS  sponsors a Girl's Volleyball Clinic.  Former HSU Women's Volleyball coach, Janis Grondolski and McKinleyville High School Varsity Coach, Delores Cano coach the 8-session clinic.  All participants learn a lot of new skills and have a great time. This year's clinic is to be held on Tuesday's and Thursday's beginning February 26th through March 20th, from 4 - 5:30 p.m. in the ACS gym.  The cost is $30/player with a 30 player maximum - first come, first serve basis.  If interested, please contact ACS at 822-5986 asap. 

 

 

Girls Volleyball

ACS Volleyball is under the direction of Coach Tara Weaver this year and the girls are having a great time. 

October 5th & 6th, ACS hosted it annual volleyball tournament.  Teams included in the tournament included:

ACS, Blue Lake, Trinidad, Freshwater,

Casterlin and Pacific Union 's 7th Grade team

The winners are as follows:

1st Place - Casterlin Elementary

2nd Place - Freshwater School

3rd Place - Blue Lake

Sportsmanship Award - Pacific Union School

The ACS team played hard and did a great job and the tournament was once again praised by all who attended. 

 Great Job Cougars!!

 

 

TRACK SEASON

ACS offers Track to students in grades 4 - 8th in the spring.

 

 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION REPORT

The students at ACS have been participating in the Presidential Physical Fitness Program for several years now.  Recently, all grades participated in the "mile run" which is four laps around the HSU track.

1st & 2nd Grades:

All students received National or Presidential marks (under 11:20 minutes)

3rd & 4th Grades:

All students received National or Presidential marks (under 10:30 minutes)

5th - 8th Grades:

All students received National or Presidential marks (under 9:14 minutes)

This is quite an accomplishment on the part of all participants.  GOOD JOB!!!
