THIRD AND FOURTH GRADES RETURN FROM CALIFORNIA
STUDIES TRIP
The 3rd and 4th grade students just returned
from a 3-day end-of- year trip. They
started in Sonoma where they visited the Mission
San Francisco Solano and then were on to Grass
Valley & Coloma where they toured two mines and
got to gold pan. The next day they
went to Sacramento and toured the State Capitol
where they were able to visit Senator Chesboro's
office and were taken down on the Senate and
the House of Representatives floors (the red and
green rooms). Afterwards they went to
Sutter's Fort and the Railroad Museum.
Everyone had a great time.

FIRE DRILL HELD FOR ALL GRADES
The entire school participated
in a fire drill. This
included preschool through grade eight. The
students exited the facility and roll was taken
within three minutes. The preschoolers did a
wonderful job during the drill and were smiling and
happy to participate.

ARCATA FIRE DEPARTMENT SHARE WITH STUDENTS
The Arcata Fire Department
visited the ACS campus recently to share fire
safety ideas with students in Preschool - 8 grades. They
all enjoyed a first hand look at the fire truck
and fire fighting equipment.
